THEATERS
"Stories of Shukshin". Directed by Alvis Hermanis (Latvia). Starring Chulpan Khamatova, Evgeny Mironov, Yulia Svezhakova, Yulia Peresild. The performance, winner of three Golden Masks 2010, is based on ten stories by Vasily Shukshin. Alvis Hermanis showed the distance we all have from each other: he and his Latvian artist Monika Pormale from Russia, the Moscow actors from the residents of the village of Srostki, all of us from rural life in the 60s. But, probably, it was precisely this distance and detachment, which he carefully maintained in his production, that helped him stage a performance that was much more Russian than that of most domestic directors. Theater of Nations on the stage of the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya , 19.00.
"Brothers Ch." Scenes. E. Gremina. Directed by Alexander Galibin. Starring Stanislav Ryadinsky, Dmitry Mulyar, Vsevolod Boldin, Alexander Panteleev, Anna Dubova, Irina Savitskova, Daria Kolpikova. The play, written by Elena Gremina, playwright, screenwriter, one of the ideologists of the “New Drama” movement, co-founder of Theatre.doc, tells about the private life of the great playwright, about how one of the brothers, according to others, is not the most gifted (the father said: "You can rely on Antosha. The Lord did not give him talent. But he writes day and night..."), but the one who is most ready for constant effort becomes a real writer, who now must bear responsibility not only for his absurd relatives, but also for his gift. . Premiere. Moscow Drama Theater named after Stanislavsky , 19.00.

EXHIBITIONS
Exhibition of works by nominees for the Kandinsky Prize. The Kandinsky Prize, established by the Artchronika cultural foundation in 2007, will present an exhibition of nominees for the fourth time, this time for the 2010 competition year. This award is the largest independent national project in the field of contemporary art in Russia. Central House of Artists , until October 13.
“Res publica. Works from the collection of the National Center for Fine Arts of France." The exhibition presents works by artists who consider art a space of thought and turn in their works to reflect on the surrounding socio-political reality and our relationship with the world. Its name refers to the Latin term res publica, that is, “common cause” or “cause of the people,” which in ancient times meant the highest value for each person, having social significance, and became the basis of the modern understanding of the state and, more narrowly, the concept of the republic. The exhibition offers a look at art as a “common cause” and represents a kind of public space where artists share their thoughts about the world around us and its structure, about man and society, about coexistence and life together and find suitable artistic forms for their expression . Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Petrovka, 25), until October 17.
"Blue Noses" Video on the knee." Retrospective of video films over the past ten years. Dissatisfied with the self-suppressed and elitist “modern art,” the “Blue Noses” developed a populist “populist” version of it, made right “on the knee,” democratic in form and content, based on modern folklore and mass culture, understandable to pioneers and pensioners. Artists create absurdist images of modern media reality, parody radical performances and television series, and create a humorous distance in relation to the political slogans and fetishes of the Russian avant-garde. Wine storage at Winzavod (4th Syromyatnichesky lane, 1, building 6), until October 31.
"Pyotr Konchalovsky. Toward the evolution of the Russian avant-garde." A large-scale exhibition of works by Pyotr Petrovich Konchalovsky (1876--1956), one of the key figures of Russian culture of the last century, the leader of the “Jack of Diamonds”. The exhibition was organized on the eve of a significant date - the centenary of the first exhibition “Jack of Diamonds” (December 1910) and the creation of the society of the same name (1911), the chairman of which was P. Konchalovsky. In the perception of his contemporaries, his work was the embodiment of the principles of the painting school created by the masters of the “Jack of Diamonds”: in addition to P. Konchalovsky, the society included I. Mashkov, A. Lentulov, A. Kuprin, V. Rozhdestvensky, R. Falk. Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky Lane , until November 14.
