In Russia, "Day of Silence" is declared before a single voting day

In Russia today, the "Day of Silence" has been announced before a single voting day on October 10. On Saturday, any election campaign is prohibited, including in the media, and on Sunday Russian citizens expect about 7 thousand 800 elections of the regional and local levels.

In six regions of the country, elections will be held in legislative assemblies: deputies will be elected in the Kostroma, Novosibirsk, Belgorod, Magadan and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as in the Republic of Tyva. In addition, on October 10, residents of Makhachkala and Samara will choose mayors of these cities, RBC reports.

The chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Vladimir Churov said that a single voting day on October 10 will become a record in the history of the existence of this institution introduced in 2006.

In its scale, the current election campaign is many times higher than the campaign for the election of State Duma deputies: 105 thousand candidates are nominated (5-7 thousand are usually recorded in the State Duma elections).

The largest number of candidates was registered from the United Russia party - 47 thousand 813 people, and self -nominates (39 thousand 854 people) are in second place. 6 thousand candidates were registered from the Communist Party of the Communist Party, 4 thousand 504 from the LDPR, from Fair Russia - 4 thousand 190, from the “right business” party - 1 thousand 208, from Yabloko - 212, from the Patriots of Russia - 895 people. It is clarified that self -nominates mainly participate in elections to local governments.
