The deputy head of administration of the Vyksa municipal district, where this summer 17 people died and 695 houses burned down as a result of the spread of forest fires in seven settlements, was accused of negligence, RIA Novosti reports.
The investigation established that the official - the chairman of the evacuation commission from 2008 to July 25 did not organize the development of a plan for the evacuation of residents, did not provide proper notification of the residents of the villages of Vereya and Borkovka.
Now the official faces Article 293 of the Criminal Code.
