Orthodox youth wants to ban gay parades in Moscow with a separate law

Orthodox youth movement "St. George!" With the support of a number of public organizations, it begins a large-scale campaign against the decision of the European Court of Human Rights on the illegality of the prohibition of gay parades in Moscow.

As Interfax correspondent was told in the press service of the movement, Orthodox youth will hold a number of pickets, rallies and shares at the European Council building in Moscow and will begin collecting signatures under an appeal to the State Duma with the aim of a legislative prohibition of such parades.

“The fact that the court decision in Strasbourg coincided with the day of entering the post of new mayor of Moscow is noteworthy. We are sure that this is not an accidental coincidence, but targeted pressure on the new head of the city,” the Georgian coordinator told the agency! Vladimir Mikhalev.

In his opinion, the decision of the Strasbourg Court, "undoubtedly, is politicized, and the ultimate goal of pressure on the Moscow government is not permission to conduct a gay parade, but support for certain opposition marginal political groups in Russia, which periodically try to conduct their unauthorized rallies, pickets and cities of the city hall and in other places in the center of the capital."

Mikhalev emphasized that Orthodox youth in all legal ways will resist the "holding of marinals in Moscow" and will seek a "legislative ban" of such events.

As the organizer of the Moscow gay parades, Nikolai Alekseev, said on the eve of the European Court recognized the refusals of the Moscow authorities illegal to agree on processions and Pakeryt sexuals in 2006-2008 and ordered Russia to pay 29 thousand euros for legal expenses and as compensation for moral damage.
