In Makhachkala, the FSB sappers managed to neutralize an explosive device that was laid near the central juma mosque. The power of the bomb was up to one and a half kg in the TNT equivalent. In addition, the device was equipped with damaging elements, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dagestan.

The explosive device was found on Monday evening at the intersection of the streets of Imam Shamil and Abubakarov. First, dog handlers arrived there with specially trained dogs who confirmed the presence of explosives. And then the sappers neutralized the bomb using the "hydrodynamic blow of the robot manipulator." Measures are being taken to establish and detain persons who laid a bomb near the mosque.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of October in Makhachkala, law enforcement agencies have already conducted several counter -terrorism operations.
