In Belarus in Pinsk, an explosion occurred at the Pinskdrev woodworking factory. According to official figures of the Belarusian Ministry of Emergencies, one person died. Meanwhile, witnesses say at least five victims, reports Radio Liberty .

Data on the victims also diverge. According to the Hartia'97 portal, 18 people were taken to the hospital with injuries received as a result of the explosion and the followed fire. At the same time, Interfax in the Brest Regional Administration of the Ministry of Emergencies reported 13 victims.

Information about the explosion was received at 13:08 local time. According to preliminary data, at that time there were 29 people in the workshop of the wood and steering plates. The fire that began after that was localized by 14:10 and completely eliminated by 15:14.

However, due to the explosion in the building, a partial collapse of the building structures of the workshop occurred. The collapse area was about 100 square meters. meters, said the press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Vitaly Novitsky. At the moment, the threat of the collapse of all structures remains. Now at the scene of the incident are five settlements of rescuers.

According to a local resident of Galina Zdrok, an explosive wave knocked out windows in the houses adjacent to the factory. Pinskdrev workers say that there were accidents in production before, but not so destructive. According to eyewitnesses, the smoke from the fire is visible from anywhere in the city.

The cause of the explosion is still clarified. Meanwhile, the territory of the plant is numb by police and KGB officers, journalists and television operators are not allowed there. Neither Pinin City Executive Committee, nor ambulance doctors want to comment on what happened.
