All the actors play in a sharp, almost grotesque drawing, but for some reason this does not turn “Uncle Vanya” into a caricature; on the contrary, it emphasizes the nuances and unexpected turns of Chekhov’s story, a new look at it. EXHIBITIONS

“Fluxus: wait and see...” The first exhibition dedicated to the Fluxus movement in Russia. By and large, this movement remains little known in the world, which is not surprising: throughout the existence of the movement, Fluxus artists tried to avoid the usual artistic institutions, trying to destroy the very principles of art. The paradox, however, is that, despite the declared categorical demarcation from the territory of art, the best objects of the exhibition convince as accomplished virtuosic plastic adventures, moreover, immersed in a historical dialogue with the history of culture, from which they are in some kind of touching nursery dependencies. Multimedia Art Museum (Ostozhenka St., 16), until November 28.

"Field of action. Moscow conceptual school and its context.” An exhibition dedicated to Russian art of the 1970s-1980s. In a certain sense, conceptualism is the “theoretical peak” of all art of the twentieth century. Having proclaimed the primacy of the idea, the masters of this movement emphasized the intellectual rather than the aesthetic, often even refusing to visualize their works. In Russia, this trend became widespread, becoming fundamental in the art of the 1970s and 1980s, leaving its mark on almost all the phenomena of unofficial art of several decades. The exhibition features about 300 exhibits: works by such famous artists as Yuri Albert, Eric Bulatov, Sergei Volkov, Vadim Zakharov, Konstantin Zvezdochetov, Ilya Kabakov, Vitaly Komar, Andrei Monastyrsky, Nikolai Panitkov, Viktor Pivovarov, Andrei Filippov and others, as well as photographs and unique documentary materials. Cultural Foundation "Ekaterina" (Kuznetsky Most St., 21/5, entrance No. 8, entrance from Bolshaya Lubyanka Street), until December 10.

The New Decor. An international survey of the work of more than 30 contemporary artists from 20 countries, for which they created a series of installations and sculptures exploring interior design as a tool for studying processes in modern culture. Artists transform, change and distort the appearance of objects that we are used to seeing every day. Lamps, beds, chairs open up to us from a new intriguing and exciting point of view. CSK "Garage" (Obraztsova St., 19a), until February 6.
