The collection of signatures under the appeal to the President of the Russian Federation in connection with the attack on the Oleg Kashin Oleg Kashin's observer began at the building of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate in the center of the capital on Petrova Street, 38.

As the organizers of the collection of signatures told Interfax , under the appeal, 300 journalists and sympathetic people of other professions, as well as 25 famous journalists and chief editors of the leading publications of Russia, have already “signed up”.

Meanwhile, a picket continues near the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate. Friends and colleagues, as well as just sympathizing with Kashin alternately hold posters: "The journalist Oleg Kashin is beaten. I demand to find performers and customers," "Put the end of unpunished crimes against journalists."

As the organizers of the collection of signatures noted, about 100 people have already arrived at the event. Some participants in the spontaneous picket came with children.

“What happened to Oleg is the tragedy. Moscow detectives and SCP investigators are seriously working, and I think that the results will be good,” the official representative of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate Viktor Biryukov told reporters.

Kashin was brutally beaten by two unknown people on Saturday night near his house on Pyatnitskaya Street in Moscow. With severe injuries, he was hospitalized in the 36th city hospital.

On the fact of the attack, a criminal case is being investigated under the article "Attempted murder by a group of persons."

One version of the reasons for the attack is the professional activity of the journalist. The case is under the control of the Prosecutor General and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev instructed to take all the necessary measures so that the crime was disclosed.
