Medvedev's teeth are cut

So, the President of Russia unexpectedly rejected the amendments proposed by both chambers of the parliament to the Federal Law "On Meetings, Raits, Processions and Picketing." As my grandmother said, "this is not a civilian, but it already smells of carrots."

I recall these changes, last spring, not anyone, but a prominent unicorn Sergey Markov, proposed to introduce to the above law. Mr. Markov, if anyone suddenly does not know, for many years has been a faithful and consistent conductor into the life of various ideological and political undertakings Vladislav Surkov. He promotes them, justifies and protects them. Markov, in fact, was then put in the Duma chair in order to additionally lobby of the Surkovsky ventures. Largely due to the fact that amendments to the law initiated Markov (that is, Surkov), no one in the Duma or in the Federation Council decided to object especially. Moreover, amendments were made as a coordinated proposal of three Duma factions - “United Russia”, “fair Russia” and the LDPR. In other words, it was important for the authorities to demonstrate the general approach of all significant political forces to solve this problem.

Meanwhile, amendments were very dragon in nature. On the one hand, they prohibited the application for mass events to those who at the moment had an unexplored administrative penalty (in the opposition, of course, there are many of them), on the other hand, they seriously limited the rights to protest actions of motorists. In addition, as it seems to me, the adoption of these amendments (if they had taken place) would also have a symbolic meaning. It clearly made it clear to all interested parties that in the near future no liberalization in the field of relations between society and power was expected. In the context of the growth of folk protest, the obvious successes of the Strategy-31 and the Blue Vederok Society, the new restrictions were essentially the next protective measures.

Last spring, Dmitry Medvedev did not express any particular objections to the “optimization” of the Law “On Meetings ...”. But, it seems, the current autumn Medvedev is no longer a couple of spring. Once he decides to torpedo the initiatives of the Almighty (or not so omnipotent?) Deputy head of his own administration. And the formulations, which the head of state used in a letter to the leaders of both wards, sound almost as a rebuke: “The right to conduct public events is directly related to citizens' rights to participate in the management of state affairs, freedom of opinions and other constitutional rights, the restriction of which is allowed only to protect the basics of the constitutional system, morality, health, rights and legitimate interests of other persons, and to ensure the defense of the country and the security of the state. It seems that the restrictions provided for by federal law are not fully correlated with the indicated goals. ”

So, Vladislav Yuryevich, "do not fully correlate with these goals." Swallow and hurry to the report to your true cartridge - you definitely have something to discuss with the prime minister.
