Udaltsov was detained almost immediately, after which, together with the nine participants, the action was delivered to the Tver police department. According to the Levofrontovites, the activist of movement Vasily Kuzmin was broken by his nose during the detention. A group of radicals, which remained on the street in a dense environment of riot police and police officers, began to chant slogans and burn fireflies. The bulk of the activists of the “other Russia” and “Left Front”, not admitted to the rally, were pushed into the alley, after which, according to eyewitnesses, the detention ceased. Sergei Udaltsov called what happened "betrayal from the Communist Party." “We are outraged and we will understand the actions of the Communists,” the leader of the “Left Front” promised.

A similar incident, but with a much large number of detainees, took place in St. Petersburg. At the approach of the communist column to Finland Prospekt, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs cut off a group of St. Petersburg National Bolshes from it and loaded them into buses. According to the official representative of “Other Russia” Alexander Averin, during the festive procession organized by the St. Petersburg branch of the Communist Party, the riot police detained more than a hundred National Bolsheviks near the cruiser Aurora.
