Russia on Friday completed the gratuitous supply of small arms - Kalashnikov machine guns and ammunition for them - for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Afghanistan. The last IL-76 of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with a mixed load of weapons and ammunition on board, who arrived from Orenburg, landed at the international airport of the Afghan capital, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
In total, in the framework of gratuitous supplies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, 20 thousand Kalashnikov machine guns and 2 million 500 thousand 400 rounds were received. Nine sides with weapons and ammunition for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Afghanistan arrived in Afghanistan from Russia. The first of them landed at Kabula Airport on November 2. Then, however, it was said not about nine flights, but about 16.
According to the representative of the management and weapons management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Afghanistan, who takes part in the receipt of cargo from Russia, the weapons will not be delivered to the units of the Afghan Ministry of Internal Affairs in the province, but is intended only for the distribution of the central apparatus in Kabul and the Kabul province.
The Afghanists supplied by Russia for the Kalashnikov’s Ministry of Internal Affairs will be used by the Afghan police to combat crime, primarily the criminal, which, in the conditions of an unstable domestic political situation, has recently overwhelmed the country, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic said.
Now the Afghan police are in service with the old Soviet machine guns and Kalashnikov machine guns, which have already served their term, or their Czech analogues that cannot withstand competition with the Russian original.
Reception and storage of small arms and ammunition arriving from Russia to Afghanistan is carried out by the Ministry of the Interior. The weapon is stored in a well -fortified underground bunker located near the Kabul airport.
These precautions are hardly unnecessary: it is no secret that the military personnel of the Afghan army, corrupt or secretly sympathetically sympathetic to the Taliban, sell weapons and ammunition to their compatriots on the other side of the front line.
Back in February, capturing their ammunition warehouse after a fight with the Taliban, the Americans were unpleasantly surprised to find in the Arsenal of the Taliban boxes with cartridges for the production of the Novosibirsk Martial Plant. It turned out that the American company was acquired by cartridges, which supplies weapons and ammunition for the Pentagon for the Afghan army. In October, the story of how the Taliban shoots from the Americans with Russian bullets acquired for American money, surfaced in Russia.
Although Russia categorically refused to send its troops to Afghanistan to help the international contingent of NATO, it provides feasible support to the Western troops. So, in October, the Russian FSKN, together with the United States, conducted a special operation to destroy four drug production laboratories in Afghanistan. In addition, Moscow agreed to sell NATO 21 new Mi-17 combat helicopter for operations in Afghanistan.
