The evening of Israeli drama will take place in Moscow

The next Thursday, November 18, the evening of the Israeli drama will be held in the Moscow Club of the House, within the framework of which four plays of Hanoch Levin - “Hefets”, “Rubber merchants”, “Bachelors and Bachelors” and “Hotel and other sketches” will be presented.

Hanoch Levin (1943-1999) is one of the most popular Israeli playwrights. He worked as a messenger and seller, wrote poetry and led a cabaret show on television. During his life, he wrote many theatrical sketches and more than sixty plays, some of which are included in Israel in the school curriculum.

Hanoch Levin is known, first of all, as the playwright is scandalous: he is occupied by the evil that is in people, everyday neurosis, frustration and mechanisms, thanks to which they subjugate people. In his texts - funny and bitter - he is ruthless to the heroes and does not spare the audience, showing the inner world of a person without any intimacy and excuses. Fear of death, greed, search for oneself, sexuality as obsession, fussy and boredom - his heroes are small, but individual - and mercilessly recognizable. Levin's texts are an energetic, tough dialogue living outside of time and space.

In Russia, Levin's plays were put by director Roman Viktuk.
