
The Supreme Court of Yakutia has upgraded the verdict of the Aldan District Court of the Republic, who recognized the director of the republican special boarding house for lonely elderly and disabled Vasily Volkov guilty of arbitrariness. "In court it was established that Volkov really placed citizens living in the boarding house in the so-called punishment cell, in which there were no windows, ventilation, heating system, a bathroom, while the medical personnel performed the director’s instructions due to fear of losing work," the report said.
In addition, the director approved penalties, according to which the guilty paid from their own pension from 300 rubles to 1.5 thousand.
"It should be noted that 75% of pensions paid the boarding house for the services of residence in it, the fines calculated the fines from the remaining 25% of the nursing and disabled pension," the press service said.
It was also found that the director imposed a ban on going out of the institution.
In total, 28 guests of the boarding house suffered from the director’s actions.
The court sentenced Volkov to conditional punishment for a period of three years. In addition, he is forbidden to occupy organizational, administrative and administrative positions in the bodies and institutions of social services.
