
Football fans called the Euro-2012 mascots Slavac and Slavko, the UNIAN Ukrainian news agency reports on Saturday.
After the presentation on November 16, in Warsaw, two twin football players, Euro 2012 symbols who personify Ukraine and Poland, fans around the world got the opportunity to participate in the competition for the choice of names for talismans. The voting results were solemnly presented on Saturday in Kyiv.
It was possible to vote for one of the three proposed variants of the names on the official website of UEFA, as well as in the restaurants of fast food "McDonald's" in Poland and Ukraine.
In accordance with the results of the survey, the votes of the fans were distributed as follows: 21 thousand 816 votes (56%) were cast for the Slavac and Slavko, 11 thousand 505 votes (29%), 5 thousand 912 votes (15%) per Klemka and Ladko).
The 2012 European Football Championship will be held in Poland and in Ukraine from June 8 to July 1, 2012.
