In a car accident on the 234th km of the Kansk-Aban-Boguchany road, the head of the directorate of the Boguchansky Energy and Metallurgical Association (BEMO) project of RusHydro and the chairman of the board of directors of the Boguchanskaya HPP, 35-year-old Dmitry Shervarli, died.
According to the UGIBDD for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser jeep, in which the top manager of RusHydro was traveling, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a truck. As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of the Toyota died on the spot.
Less than a month earlier, on November 8, another top manager of this project, the general director of the Boguchanskaya HPP, 55-year-old Boris Yefimov, died.
The BEMO project is sharply criticized by many residents of Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk. Nevertheless, the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station, the fourth hydroelectric station on the Angara, is being completed. Anatoly Chubais, the chief expert of such "megaprojects", spoke of this construction as "a turning point in the development of Russian capitalism", "the largest investment project in Russia", "the largest construction project". The Angara, the great, clean Siberian river, will no longer exist, the Angara cascade of hydroelectric power stations will remain.
The accident caused the expected noise. On the Internet, residents of Krasnoyarsk are vigorously discussing whether it is worth sympathizing with the death of Dmitry Shervarli. In the same way, the people of Irkutsk recently decided whether the death of two workers of the Baikal Pulp and Paper Mill, which shits in Baikal, sacred to Siberians, is worthy of regret. Are the people who destroy Siberia worthy of sympathy, and their death - of regret? It makes no sense to lament about the inhumanity of the very posing of such a question: on the Internet, kindness and humanism are not worth looking for even in the brightest light. I am more than sure that almost everyone who gloats on the Web about the death of a top manager of RusHydro, if he had witnessed this accident, would have stopped and rushed to his aid. And those “comments” that the same person writes are just a transfer of attitude towards the colonial projects of “Russian capitalism”, towards corporations destroying Siberia, to a specific victim. Where else can a man take his soul today? Where can one Russia notice another, where can they clash on equal terms?
Discussing the question of who is worthy of a human relationship to himself and who is not is still somewhat more productive than a humble awareness of himself as raw material, raw material for the formation of “Russian capitalism”.
It, this capitalism, will get up and get stronger, but from now on the death of officials and businessmen will be celebrated here as national holidays - with festivities, songs and dances. I don’t know, there is probably something in this from class hatred and envy, but most of all this shows through the very instinct of self-preservation, which cannot but work when your habitat dies.
The construction of Boguchanka was forced after the disaster at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station. The father of the deceased Dmitry Shervarli, Yevgeny Shervarli, as deputy chief engineer of the SSHHPP, headed the competition commission that decided who to give contracts for the repair and modernization of hydroelectric units. The commission gave them to the same "Gidroenergoremont", which the Deputy Prime Minister and curator of "RusHydro" Igor Sechin called "fraudulent": this CJSC was established by the current and former heads of the station and their relatives. It was this company that repaired the ill-fated second hydroelectric unit that started it all.
Dmitry Shervarli grew up on Sayanka, started working here as an electrical laboratory engineer, but not for long: he immediately jumped to the key positions of the Energy Saving Center of RAO UES of Russia, OAO NIIES, OAO UK VoGEK, OAO UK HydroOGK, OAO RusHydro ". A bright, fast career that ended in a head-on collision in an oncoming lane. The truck crushed the Japanese jeep like a newspaper.
