It turned out this: some time ago, to my co -author, a young sensible guy, a certain friend working in this LLC, offered to submit a grant from their office and said that they would pay 150,000 rubles, that is, 10 times less. At that moment, he did not know that in reality the amount of grant was 10 times more. This money really comes to him, he does not feel offended, but henceforth, for obvious reasons, will be provided from such proposals. Where the remaining 90%go, we don’t know: maybe to support the hospice for homeless mice, maybe more. Morality is this: I want to inform people by what rules these are LLCs and the structures like him play, and then everyone decides for himself, to contact them or not.

In a private conversation, Pavel Ivanov additionally clarified the following points:

The whole performance of V.V. Fomin is imbued with the idea of ​​combating hostile teaching - Normanism - which I am for Fomin a visual representative. At one time, I was also forced to write about Normanism, although I realized that there was no normalism. Now we can admit it openly. Antinormanists proclaim that Normanism is a certain teaching, "Norman theory." In fact, there is no such theory. There are hypotheses about the ethnic identification of the Varangians, about one degree or another of the participation of Scandinavians in the ancient history of our country, etc. But not all hypotheses in case of confirmation become theories, many become not theories, but with facts. The hypotheses of the Varangians belong to this last category of hypotheses. The dispute is about facts. Therefore, in the case of confirmation, no “iz” is formed.

As for antinormanism, it has existed in reality for more than two hundred years. But it exists only in Russia and nowhere else in the world. Therefore, there is every reason to believe that antinormanism is not a scientific course, but an ideological tendency introduced into science for considerations that are represented as patriotic. Remove the terms “Normanism” and “antinormanism” from the discussion - and immediately disputes will lose their fervor, and in many cases the meaning.
