"Field of action. Moscow conceptual school and its context.” An exhibition dedicated to Russian art of the 1970s-1980s. In a certain sense, conceptualism is the “theoretical peak” of all art of the twentieth century. Having proclaimed the primacy of the idea, the masters of this movement emphasized the intellectual rather than the aesthetic, often even refusing to visualize their works. In Russia, this trend became widespread, becoming fundamental in the art of the 70s and 80s, leaving its mark on almost all the phenomena of unofficial art of several decades. The exhibition features about 300 exhibits: works by such famous artists as Yuri Albert, Eric Bulatov, Sergei Volkov, Vadim Zakharov, Konstantin Zvezdochetov, Ilya Kabakov, Vitaly Komar, Andrei Monastyrsky, Nikolai Panitkov, Viktor Pivovarov, Andrei Filippov and others, as well as photographs and unique documentary materials. "Arts and Crafts. Pre-Raphaelite Graphics". The Pre-Raphaelite movement formed in Great Britain at the end of the nineteenth century as a protest against the dominant academic painting, against conventions and traditions. They celebrated beauty and aestheticism, and this philosophy permeated all aspects of cultural life - from architecture to landscape design and publishing. Founded by the Pre-Raphaelite artists Burne-Johnson and Morris, the Kelmscott Press and the books they published had a huge influence on illustrators, designers and decorators not only in Britain, but throughout the world. It was they who elevated printing to the rank of art. The exhibition will feature 44 engravings from Burne-Johnson's The Story of Cupid and Psyche. Zinaida Serebryakova. More than 100 works of the pre-revolutionary and French period, as well as paintings of the late 19th century shown for the first time from the collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Russian Museum, Peterhof, the Vologda Art Gallery, the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum, the Kaluga and Tula Art Museums, etc. The exhibition is dedicated to the 125th anniversary artist and the Year of France in Russia and Russia in France, since she lived a significant part of her life in Paris, where she was buried. Over the centuries of Western European and Russian history, the myths and realities of childhood have reflected important problems of philosophy and religion, moral and social ideals, pedagogical theories and practices of personal education. The purpose of the exhibition is to identify the main themes and genres of painting, sculpture, graphics, as well as photography, in which the interpretation of childhood has a universal meaning. Using examples of the works of Botticelli, Rubens, van Dyck, Goya, Strozzi, Murillo, Renoir, Muro, Serov, Repin, Makovsky and other outstanding masters, the viewer will see not only the history of the emergence and development of the “children’s genre”, but also the history of personality formation from the cradle until youth.
