Here are fragments of Yashin's notes :
I spent the first two nights of my arrest in the cage of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Basmanny District. On December 31, more than two dozen oppositionists were delivered here, but I had alone to celebrate the New Year behind bars.
Human rights activists came to the night and forced the police to organize an individual camera for me from Monkey. They put a couch, gave bedding. You can live.
The clock, meanwhile, struck 12.
“Happy New Year, political,” the major handed me a glass of tea through the bars. They met with dignity, I thought to myself and fell asleep ...
... I was delivered to the Tver court by about 11 am on January 2. The bitchy and evil captain Polyakova, who gave me a long lecture on the “paid Western opposition”, commanded the convoy, and that her child would never grow up like me. I was sincerely surprised that she has children.
Despite the fact that the convoy tried to isolate me from friends and journalists who arrived at the court, I managed to throw myself with several greetings. They even crossed with Nemtsov, exchanging a strong handshake. I was sent to the stuffy escort room, where I spent long eight hours ...
When, finally, they brought it into the courtroom, the running eyes of a young pale brunette looked at me on top of the glasses. Judge Borovkova. I knew that not a judge before me, but the waitress who fulfills the order is to arrest the rallies on the triumphal.
Actually, I told Ms. Borovkova all this as soon as I received a word. After that, he demanded the discharge of the judge, which she, of course, rejected. In protest, I fell silent and did not answer any of her questions anymore.
Half an hour later, the judge announced the verdict that seemed humane after her decision by Kosyakin and Nemtsov: five days. “Look, it worked,” the lawyer winked in surprise, very criticized by my protest tactics. “It looks like it was really ashamed” ...
Soon I was taken to the insulator on Simferopol Boulevard.
“So, our clock is not laid,” the officer who met me said. “You will determine the time in the sun.”
The insulator is mainly filled with violent alcoholics, rowing under the New Year. All detainees on the triumphal opposition were delivered here, but they shook it on different cameras. In cell No. 5, besides me, six people are sitting. Everyone "flew" on a drunken business. Once he broke his face to the guard in the store, another swearing in the middle of the street, the third mixed up the door and burst at midnight in the apartment of the neighbors ...
Our camera looks like in a bad movie about the Zone. A small cell with a barred window, bunk beds, hung with sheets, a hole in the floor instead of a toilet, pretty cockroaches the size of a little finger ....
You can live :) We will definitely break through, and Russia will be free.
The photographer and journalist Dmitry Borko, who was present at the trial of the opposition, shared his feelings from what he saw in his blog on the website of Brani.ru:
From 10 a.m. to 10 pm, the judge Borovkova fought with dozens of witnesses, photographs and videos in order to roll up the leaders of different opposition movements for 10-15 days. It is this imitation of justice with a pre -disgusting result that is the most disgusting result, but this is already said about this.
It was more interesting to observe those who, having come to support their comrades, sat 10-12 hours in a cramped stuffy corridor under the door of the courtroom. Very outwardly different people gathered. For Kosyakina - young nimble leftists. For the liberals of Nemtsov and Yashin - the elderly democrats of the call of the 90s and also young people - from "solidarity". For the Torah from the DPNI - his own, imposing, sarcastic and thorough, like most moderate nationalists.
At first, everyone somehow managed to bump in the corners, but where can you get in such crowding, when the water bottle in a circle, the phones sit down and one chair for seven? And diffusion began ...
I wandered, listening to the conversation. It turned out that everyone speaks Russian. What is used in some words, often completely differently, but in personal communication, a desire to clarify their meaning quickly. He attracted the conversation of the elderly Ingush, who came "for Nemtsov", and the younger, but no less intelligent "nationalist". They made a lot of complaints to each other. Most of them seemed quite fair to me. In the conversation, they twice shook hands twice (although it looked more likely an advance).
I am by no means a good optimist. It is unlikely that they will immediately take into account the knowledge gained in their actions. In society, we have everything no less bad than in power. Rather, this is interconnected. But we are all sitting in one cramped and stuffy corridor in anticipation of the trial. So far, we think that over our idols, but in fact - above us. And this trial over everyone will be unrighteous, languid and endless. I think the longer the better. Because so far they will send some to the bunks or to the grave, the rest will be able to talk longer in the suffocating purge of the corridor. Maybe what will they think of?
In the same Internet publication, Grani.ru reports about the documentary Pesa “Theater.Do” organized by the Moscow Theater in defense of Vladimir Neklyaev - a political prisoner in Belarus, in defense of those who are now in prison in Belarus and Russia, against illegal arrests of oppositions on December 31 in Moscow. In the action of “Repression through the eyes of young playwrights”, the authors of “Theater.Do” express their attitude to what is happening.
The playwright Maxim Kurochkin writes:
Putin, Lukashenko, Yanukovych - an unfair constellation. Stars of one school, brothers and mutual creatures. What do I feel for them? Contempt for secret killers, obvious provocateurs, vengeful thiefs? Yes, these are legal feelings. Pity is too! So take revenge, so hide, so ascend ... Children! Such arrests, such tortures, such friendships, palaces, such sentences - so shouting from pain and horror, small, locked in sports and not very torso: deprived of sufficient love, necessary and on time of books, conversations, thrown and dreary into the world.
Playwright and screenwriter Mikhail Durnenkov:
I have a simple, most common misunderstanding. I have read in my youth of all sorts of dissidents there. Solzha, Dovlatov, Shalamov, Bukovsky, Sinyavsky and Daniel. And every time he asked himself a question. The question that, it seems to me, is impossible not to ask yourself when you read such texts. And here I am, if I am in such a situation as I will act? And each time a chain of such thoughts ended in the final: “God forbid, so that this never happened to me. God forbid, that I never find myself in a situation from which the only honest exit is destroyed for many years, to the very end of life. ”
And so. Everything is like clockwork. I have a family and a child. I have a favorite job that is so tightly glued with this language that it simply cannot exist without it. And this country literally in front of our eyes turns into that, from books, and that hypothetical question that I asked myself in my youth becomes more and more relevant. And I don't understand. I live an ordinary life. Well, yes, well, censorship, yes, self -censorship. Well, they lie on TV. Well, somewhere they arrest someone. This is what I do not understand - the heroes of those books have already acted. Do you really have to start already? Is it really what I was afraid of the most? Is it really time? It’s a pity that never happened, the possibility of which we felt in the nineties. What a pity that this did not happen.
