The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation conducts a pre-investigation of the former Prime Minister of Bashkiria Rail Sarbaev-he is suspected of non-targeted use of budget funds during a foreign trip when he was the head of government of the republic.

“We are talking about abuse of authority by the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sarbayev when using more than 1.5 million rubles of budget funds to pay for the air travel on the Ufa -Vienna -Ufa route in December 2009,” Svetlana Abramova, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Superior, said on Tuesday .

According to her, the purpose of this trip is currently being established, the source of its financing and other circumstances relevant. According to the results of the audit, the duration of which is limited by criminal procedure legislation in time and may continue within one month, a procedural decision, a representative of the UK, will be made.

In turn, the former press secretary of the ex-Prime Minister Zuhra Saitkulova said that Sarbaev did not commit any violations: "Rail Salikhovich Sarbaev knows about the preliminary investigation that had begun and is absolutely calm about this, since he did not commit violations."

According to her, Sarbaev is currently not available for comment, but he voiced his position on this issue: a trip to Austria of the former Prime Minister Bashkiria "was official, widely covered in the press."

"The purpose of the trip was to study the experience in the construction of a factory for the production of rapidly vested low -rise housing," she explained. “I think that if the trip had any illegal component, then it would attract the attention of law enforcement agencies much earlier, because the fight against corruption was not announced today,” the former spokesman added.

Meanwhile, according to the sources of the Kommersant newspaper, close to the government of the republic, that trip of Sarbaev to Austria was unofficial: the prime minister was heading to Vienna to meet with the son of the then president of Bashkiria to Ural Rakhimov in Austria.

Rail Sarbaev served as head of the Bashkiria head from April 2008 to August 2010. According to the representative of the UK Abramova, the procedural decision on this issue will be made within a month. Meanwhile, local experts are confident that according to the results of a pre -investigation verification against Sarbaev, a criminal case will be instituted.
