
The quarantine due to the flu epidemic, introduced in Moscow schools on January 31, it was decided to extend until February 8. According to RIA Novosti, a source in the city administration, the extension will affect only students in grades 1-6. The representative of the city administration explained that this decision was made due to the fact that among students of these classes, the incidence rate has not decreased enough.
On the recommendation of Rospotrebnadzor in all Moscow schools from grades 1 to 8, from January 31, 2011, quarantine was introduced due to influenza and SARS.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, from January 17 to January 23, 2011, the incidence of SARS and influenza exceeded the calculated epidemic thresholds among children under two years old - by 11.5 percent, among children from 3 to 6 years old - by 23.3 percent, among children from 7 to 14 years old - by 42.6 percent, among adults - by 4.6 percent. In general, among the population - by 27.5 percent.
