Masked special forces entered the barracks, where about 30 convicts are serving their sentences, accompanied by the head of the security department of the colony Vitaly Kursenkov and another employee, Sergei Pogorelov.

According to eyewitnesses, "special forces began to beat the convicts, then took them out of the barracks and began to turn everything upside down." The event itself could not surprise anyone. However, when the special forces began to throw off religious literature on the floor and defiantly trample on the Koran, the prisoners could not stand it. They began to resent, to which, according to them, Vitaly Kursenkov replied: “This is a special event, and it cannot do without such phenomena.”

After the special event was completed, according to the convicts, the head of the colony, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Kozlovsky, came to the barracks. Andrei Mikhailovich paid no attention to the indignation of the beaten people and the demand to explain the actions of the special forces.

After that, convicts from the North Caucasian republics went on a hunger strike. As a sign of solidarity, they were joined by three more barracks, where about 600 prisoners from all over Russia are kept. The convicts claim that if such cases do not stop, they will open their veins en masse.

“Training” raids by prison special forces in Russian colonies are not new. This is a specific method of work of our penitentiary system - to beat for prevention. However, the new leadership of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, unlike the previous one, recognized the existence of this problem. And even argued that such a practice would be nipped in the bud.

Back in the summer, in an interview with Novaya, the deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, Vasily Bolshakov, said: “Each departure of special forces is strictly regulated. The prosecutor accompanies him and draws up a protocol. And if such things happen, the guilty employees will be punished - unconditional removal from office from the first person to the performers.
