Editor of Ingushetia.ru: I was poisoned in Moscow

The editor of the site Ingushetia.ru Magomed Khazbiev, who arrived in Moscow to participate in a press conference on the situation in Ingushetia, said that he was poisoned. According to the "Caucasian Knot", on February 12, the opposition was hospitalized in serious condition with internal bleeding. A day earlier, Khazbiev, also a member of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, met with reporters in one of the Moscow cafes.

“We sat in a cafe, and I ordered the Caesar salad, I ate a little from the plate. I immediately noticed that two suspicious men were sitting near us. One of them, large, bald, sat away and the other almost nearby. These two left the cafe as soon as we calculated and gathered to leave,” the opposition said.

After their departure, Khazbiev felt malaise. “Previously, my health was fine, and a recent examination showed that the stomach is in order,” he said.

A source in Moscow hospital No. 31, where Khazbiev was delivered, confirmed that he was hospitalized in serious condition, and did not rule out that this was poisoning. So far, doctors, according to him, find it difficult to form an accurate diagnosis. Khazbiev is currently in the clinic under the protection.

At the press conference "Tensity in Ingushetia as a result of the mistakes of the authorities", planned in Moscow on February 16, Khazbiev was about to talk about the abductions and disappearances of civilians in the republic. In addition, according to the opposition, he, together with human rights activist Leo Ponomarev, planned to hold a series of pickets in Moscow against the arbitrariness of security forces in Ingushetia.

"I discussed all these plans with colleagues and media representatives by telephone. My numbers are known to everyone, and, of course, are listening. Obviously, the very power structures against the crimes of which we planned our shares, decided to eliminate me," Khazbiev said. The former owners of the site Ingushetia.ru Magomed Evloev and Maksharip Aushev were killed in 2008 and 2009.
