Passenger transportation by 2014 will grow by a third

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is waiting for the volume of passenger air transportation by 32%by 2014, the Association press service reports. The number of transported passengers will increase from 2.5 billion in 2009 to 3.3 billion people in 2014.

It is assumed that the cause of changes will be the growth of passenger traffic from China. According to IATA forecasts, in 2014 there will be 214 million out of 800 million new passengers around the world. The flow of air passengers from Russia will increase by 11%.

The volume of freight air transportation by 2014, according to the experts of the Association, will reach 38 million tons against 26 million tons in 2009.

In December 2010, IATA experts revised the aircraft industry income from $ 5.3 billion to $ 9.1 billion in 2011, Reuters reports. Last year, air carrier revenues around the world amounted to $ 15.1 billion, and in 2009, air traffic players lost $ 9.9 billion.
