The jury in the Moscow City Court found guilty of the defendants about the murder of the Magadan governor

The jury in the Moscow City Court unanimously found the defendants in the case of the murder of the Governor of the Magadan Region Valentin Tsvetkov , which occurred in 2002 in Moscow. In the murder of Tsvetkov (Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the attempt on the life of the deputy head of the representative office of the Magadan region under the government of the Russian Federation Peter the cap (Article 30, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), four people were accused: Arthur Anisimov, Martin Babakekhyan, Alexander Zakharov and Masis Akhunts.

According to the verdict of the board, none of the defendants deserves condescension. In addition, the jury recognized Babkikyan, Zakharov and Anisimova guilty of two episodes of fraud worth more than 30 million rubles. At the same time, the episode of the attempt on the life of Peter the cap was recognized as unproven, Interfax reports.

The judge of the Moscow City Court thanked the jury for the performance of civil debt, announced the end of their participation in this process and set a date for discussing the consequences of the verdict on February 15. Earlier in the debate of the parties, the prosecutor asked to recognize all the defendants in the case guilty, and the defense - to fully justify.

In the early 2000s, the then Governor of the Magadan Region Valentin Tsvetkov, with the assistance of his adviser Victoria Tikhacheva, created in the region the Magadan enterprise for the extraction and processing of seafood, which monopolized the issuance of quotas for crab and valuable fish rocks. The redistribution of fishing revenues caused the conflict of the regional administration with a local business elite, and the initiator of the reform "ordered".

According to the investigation, in August 2002, in Moscow, Russian citizens Anisimov, Akhunts, Zakharov and Babakekhyan created a stable criminal group, the purpose of which was to organize the murder of the governor of the Magadan region. Then several more people were involved in the group, including a number of residents of the Primorsky Territory, whose task included directly committing the murder. The group members purchased other people's passports, rented apartments and private houses in advance, as well as two cars and mobile phones.

Since the official spent most of his time in Moscow, a Killers team, which, according to investigators, was sent to the capital from the Magadan region, of the seven to nine people. These people rented a house in the Moscow region, bought weapons, two used cars, mobile phones with SIM cards on stands and followed the governor for two months. On the afternoon of October 18, 2002, the unidentified killer shot Valentina Tsvetkov near the representative office of the Magadan region on the New Arbat and seriously wounded the employee Peter the hat that accompanied him. After the attempt, the killer managed to hide.

Already in the summer of 2003, as part of the criminal case initiated by the murder of a criminal case, the owner of several Far Eastern security enterprises Arthur Anisimov, whose services were used by fishing enterprises, was detained and arrested. He was suspected of organizing the murder, but at first he was convicted for three years for fraud and only after serving the deadline was charged with the murder of Valentin Tsvetkov. Then the security guard Sergei Filippenko were arrested (he was considered a killer for some time, but then they released him to freedom) and Masis Akhunts, who followed, according to the investigation, the Magadan governor in Moscow.

In 2008, investigators managed to find in Spain and achieve extradition of two more likely accomplices of the killer - Alexander Zakharov and Martin Babakehekhan. After that, a statement was made on the disclosure of a loud crime. According to investigators, the customer of the murder of the governor has not been established, his alleged performer is unknown - the killer allegedly fled with several accomplices and was eliminated by them. The process in this case began in the Moscow City Court in September last year.
