The nephew of the spiritual leader of the Buddhists of the Dalai Lama XIV was shot down on one of the routes in the American state of Florida, when he made a 480-kilometer procession in support of Tibet. This was reported by AP, referring to the local police.

The incident occurred on Monday closer to the evening on the A1A highway. 45-year-old Jigma K. Norbu was shot down by a sports car. The brand of the car and the identity of the driver are not specified.

As the agency notes, Norbu began his procession from the city of St. Ogastin and was heading to West-Palm Beach. With his act, the Dalai Lama nephew wanted to draw attention to the struggle of Tibet for independence from China. This is not the first time that Norbu made such long processions in support of Tibet. Earlier, he hit the road in 2009, then the route of his journey passed from Indiana to New York.

Jigma K. Norbu lived in Indiana. He was the son of his brother Dalai Lama XIV Takser Rinpoche, who died in September 2008.
