Leftists staged a pogrom in the historic Nuremberg courtroom

Representatives of left-wing organizations staged a pogrom in the historical hall number 600, where the trial of Nazi criminals took place after World War II, Welt reports. The immediate reason was the consideration in court of the case of a 24-year-old neo-Nazi, who is accused of attempting to murder a schoolboy of Kurdish origin.

After court officials tried to seat representatives of the far right in the empty seats in the courtroom, supporters of the left began chanting “Nazis out!”, “No place for Nazis!” and turned over several benches. The meeting was interrupted, but many of the leftists refused to comply and leave the courtroom.

The police were forced to intervene. As a result of the riots, two spectator benches were torn from their mountings and overturned, and many doors were damaged. Court employees, in their own words, cannot remember that such large-scale unrest occurred in court.

The defendant, meanwhile, had already partially admitted his guilt at the beginning of the trial. The incident occurred in April 2010 in the Nuremberg metro. The 24-year-old accused punched an 18-year-old schoolboy, after which his breathing and heart temporarily stopped. To justify his actions, the 24-year-old defendant said that a schoolboy made rude comments about his girlfriend, who was wearing a Tor Steinar brand jacket - clothing traditionally popular with the far right.
