The Ministry of Defense has decided to deprive Nikita Mikhalkov’s car of special signals, in particular, a flashing light, Interfax reports , citing its own sources in the department. There has been no official confirmation of this information.

The question of the flashing light on Mikhalkov’s car was first raised in the spring of 2010, when the director himself, answering questions from a journalist from the REN channel, stated that special signals were assigned to him as the chairman of the Public Council of the Ministry of Defense. After this, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reported that the Prosecutor General's Office declared the installation of signals illegal, in particular, violating the government decree "On special light and sound signals."

Despite the decision of the prosecutor's office, which was dated November 2010, Mikhalkov continued to use the car with the beacon. In December of the same year, for example, he arrived in a car with a flashing light at a meeting of the Public Council of the Ministry of Defense.

Later, the cars belonging to the council were transferred to the motor transport department of the Ministry of Defense, and the director himself was included in the list of people who were allowed to use these vehicles. As a result, in mid-January 2011, Mikhalkov’s flashing light was legalized, and the prosecutor’s office stopped checking the director, finding no damage from his temporary use of a car with special signals.
