Germany extradited to Russia the former head of the Bashkir branch of the OPORA Russia organization, Rail Subkhankulov, accused of fraud. This was reported on February 18 on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

Subkhankulov is accused of ten counts of fraud and ten counts of forgery of documents. The Russian was detained at the airport in the German city of Dusseldorf in September 2010. In January 2011, German authorities granted Russia's request to extradite the accused. On February 18, Interpol officers brought Subkhankulov to the Russian Federation.

Subkhankulov, being the leader of the Bashkir branch of OPORA Russia (an organization uniting small and medium-sized entrepreneurs), headed the company Agidel Company in Neftekamsk. According to investigators, in 2005-2007, the businessman regularly entered into agreements with front companies to perform construction and installation work and purchase goods. Value added tax refunds were issued for these transactions. The compensation was transferred to the accounts of companies controlled by the Agidel Company and then appropriated. In total, 74.5 million rubles were stolen from the budget in this way.
