Prosecutor General's Office: in different regions of Russia, officials and security forces patronize underground casinos; prosecutors go there

Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika ordered large-scale inspections to be carried out in a number of regions of Russia after a scandal with an underground gambling business in the Moscow region, said official representative of the Prosecutor General's Office Marina Gridneva , and in various regions of the country facts of patronage by officials and law enforcement officers have already been revealed .
“Given the scale of this type of criminal activity and the existing public outcry, Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika gave instructions to organize an audit of the state of prosecutorial supervision in this area,” Gridneva said.
According to her, for this purpose, brigades of the Prosecutor General’s Office have been formed, which are beginning comprehensive inspections of the prosecutor’s office, law enforcement and regulatory authorities of the Moscow, Samara, Sverdlovsk regions and Stavropol Territory.
The brigade leaders were instructed to organize a personal reception of citizens.
Gridneva also reported that due to the scandal, the Moscow region prosecutor Alexander Mokhov was removed from office during the investigation .
