Two aircraft of the IL-76 EMERCOM of Russia arrived in the Libyan city of Sirts for the evacuation of Russians.

"At 00:08 Moscow time, the first transport aircraft IL -76 landed at the airPRO of the city of Sirt (Libya)," Interfax reports with reference to the information management of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. The second landed at 00:36 Moscow time, reports ITAR-TASS.

"It is planned that these aircraft from the Libyan city of Sirts will be evacuated by 118 people," the press service of the ministry added. Of these, 31 citizen of Russia. The preliminary list of Russians evacuated from this Libyan city is published on the official website of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.

On the eve of a meeting of the operational headquarters dedicated to the evacuation of Russians from Libya, the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies, Sergei Shoigu, instructed to send planes to Libya, which will evacuate the next batch of Russians to their homeland.

"We have 118 people in Sirte. We send two sides to you (in SIRT), based on the fact that our neighbors may be there, I mean the CIS countries, as well as other foreigners who worked under an agreement with Russian companies," he said at a selective meeting of the operational headquarters.

The operational group of the Ministry of Emergencies for the evacuation of Russians from Sirte is headed by the Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations Alexander Chupyan. It includes representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as well as psychologists of the Ministry of Emergencies, who will accompany planes with evacuated people.

"From Sirte, the first board of the Ministry of Emergencies will go to Moscow, and the second will land in Istanbul, where he will deliver Turkish citizens who worked under a contract with Russian companies," the Ministry of Emergencies said.

According to the operational headquarters, in Libya currently in two Libyan cities - Sirt and Ras -Lanuf, there are 1083 people who need to be taken to Russia.

The Russian Ambassador to Libya Vladimir Chalov, during a selector meeting, said that Russians from Ras-Lanuf could only be taken out by sea.

The ferry "St. Stefan-2" came out of the port of Montenegro and arrived in the Italian city of Bari. According to the Russian "emergency" department, the movement of the vessel is complicated by weather conditions - the stormy situation on the route, which complicates the evacuation process.

The head of the operational group, who is on board the ferry, told Shoigu that the departure of the ferry from the port of Bari and the further movement of the vessel were scheduled for the night of Friday.

As another option, the possibility of transporting citizens of our country from Ras-Lanuf by road to Sirts is considered as another option, and already there they will be taken away by the aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

On Wednesday, February 23, the first stage of evacuation was completed. Four aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies delivered 339 people to Moscow from Libya.
