The talisman of the Olympics in Sochi will be chosen by all -Russian voting

Voting at the choice of the talisman of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games 2014 in Sochi will be held today on Russian television-on the First Channel, ITAR-TASS reports.

The Organizing Committee of Sochi-2014 decided that the process of choosing a talisman should become as open as possible, taking into account the opinions of relevant specialists, professional designers, sports lovers and the public, so the game talisman will be announced on February 26 following the results of the popular SMS and telephone voting, which will take place live. The beginning of the presentation of all candidates for the 2014 Games talisman - at 21:15 Moscow time. The results of the All -Russian vote will summarize the air of the Channel One at 23:00 Moscow time.

The presentation of the ideas of talismans of the Olympic Games in Sochi took place on February 7 in the Channel One studio, exactly three years before the start of the Olympics. According to the results of the first round of the competition, a short list of applicants was identified, which included 10 Olympic and 3 Paralympic ideas of talismans.

Among the 10 talismans, the jury selected according to the results of the first stage of the competition, the following characters: White Bear, Leopard, Brown Bear, Snowball, Snowflake and Ice, Snegier, Sun, Hare, Delphin, Santa Claus, Matryoshka.

Professional artists embodied amateur work in drawings and sketches that meet all artistic requirements.

Channel One Channel Channel Channel Konstantin Ernst, summing up the results of the first stage of the competition, noted: “Our task is to determine, to find such a talisman that will be recognized in 30 years, love with millions of sport experts. The sample we are equal to is a symbol of the Olympiad -80, the Olympic Bear.

I note that the bears, both white and brown among 25 thousand creative works submitted for the competition, are the most common characters, ”he said.
