The repentance of the judge Danilkin

“The verdict was written by me. My sentence is written consciously. I signed this verdict, I proclaimed it and I am responsible for this sentence until the end of my days, ”repeated, like the mantra, the chairman of the Khamovnichesky court, Viktor Danilkin, and looked intently at the TV presenter Alexei Pimanov, the FSB prize laureate and the senator of the Senator from the Republic of Tuva. By chance or not, but on the same day, on February 24, when an interview with the most famous Russian judge was published on Channel One in the program “Man and Law”, the results of the audit were published, which was held on the lies detector Danilkin Natalya Vasilieva. It turned out that everything that she previously said to the media was true. And she said that Judge Danilkin did not write the verdict in the case of Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Lebedev, that the verdict was brought from the Moscow City Court and that strong pressure was exerted to the judge. The polygraph confirmed that Vasiliev was sincere in his desire to expose injustice.

Answering Pimanov’s questions, Danilkin was tense and constrained, as if, in turn, he had a test on the polygraph and would very much like to hide the truth. This bugged, merciful gentleman in a gorgeous jacket with a stopped look was not at all like the judge Danilkin, who was seen in the process. He sometimes could afford to joke and knew how to smile. Danilkin’s performance was reminded of the television repentance of the Soviet dissidents Peter Yakir, Viktor Krasin and Fr. Dmitry Dudko in the 70–80 years of the XX century. The only difference that they were brought to television from the chambers of the Lefortovo pre -trial detention center, and Danilkin came from the house.

“They didn’t break me,” he said to the millionth audience of Channel One.
