Leonid Melamed leaves the post of president of AFK "System"

Today, the Board of Directors of the AFC "System" will consider the issue of reorganization of the management structure. The main change: the resignation of MTS, Mikhail Shamolin, will replace the President of the AFC President Leonid Melamed today. The new head of MTS was Andrei Dubovskov, writes the newspaper Kommersant .

Melamed "will continue to actively participate in the transformations of the corporation at the posts of a member of the Board of Directors of OJSC AFK System" and the chairman of the board of directors of OJSC "NK RUSSNEFT", the press release of the System said.

The changes are associated with the embodiment of the new System Strategy, approved by the Board of Directors in October 2010 and "consisting in the evolutionary transition from the model of the operating holding to the model of the investment fund": almost all companies belonging to the corporations should become completely independent of it in the management.

Andrei Dubovskov was born in 1966, held leading posts in a number of telecommunication companies. In 2006, he was appointed head of the Ural macro -region. In January 2008, he headed the MTS Ukraine business unit, the second in terms of revenue for MTS. "The board of directors is confident that Andrei will continue the implementation of MTS strategic priorities aimed at growing business in the markets of Russia and the CIS," said Ron Zommer, chairman of the board of directors of MTS.

The duties of the Director of the MTS Ukraine business unit will be temporarily performed by its marketing director Vasil Latsanich.
