President Dmitry Medvedev visited on Monday the base of the OMON Detachment of the Zubyr, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the city of Shchelkovo, who personally observed the exercises of this special forces, appreciated its weapons and talked with the personnel.

Recall that the Zubyr detachment, created at the beginning of 2006 as an independent unit of the Ministry of the Interior, sadly "became famous" at the end of 2008, when its fightersharshly dispersed the protest of motorists in Vladivostok against raising duties on the import of foreign cars.

As the president was told, the techniques used by special forces in hand -to -hand combat were selected for 23 years, from the moment of the creation of riot police.

Also, riot police demonstrated a number of tasks in various psychological conditions. Elements of psychological training of fighters were worked out on the example of landing with moving vehicles, as well as under the moving armored vehicle.

Medvedev praised the actions of the fighters on the exercises on Monday. “The guys worked harmoniously, everything looked spectacular, in a single impulse all the combat tasks were completed,” he said, especially noting the work of high -rise and snipers, which were involved in the exercises.

Another result of the visit of the head of state to the Bazu Base was the appearance of a puppy in the cynological service, named after the dog of the President of Russia. Anna Verchenko addressed Medvedev with the corresponding request to Medvedev and received presidential consent.
