Dutch prostitutes can be taxed by taxes comparable to those who are paid by ordinary citizens. Faced with economic difficulties, the country's authorities decided not to give them tax concessions anymore. Previously, the Dutch government was more condescending to representatives of the ancient profession than to employees of other spheres, since they were considered victims of praise and living goods, the British television and radio corporation "BBC" reports.

The annual turnover of the business of love services in Holland is estimated at 625 million euros. Changes in the legislation can contribute to the emergence of tens of thousands of new taxpayers, and the state hopes that prostitutes will give the treasury 33% of their income, that is, as much as representatives of other professions.

Since 2000, when trading in Holland has legalized their own body and prostitutes legally became one of the varieties of private entrepreneurs, the image of Amsterdam is increasingly associated with Europeans with depraved boyfriends and sex tourism.

This is not to say that the Government of the Netherlands is completely inactive. So, at the end of 2007, under the pressure of the public, the authorities attempted to cleanse the red lamps of unwanted guests and, as one of the representatives of the municipality, "all rabble" put it.

Nevertheless, the trading of sexual services is still the most profitable type of entrepreneurship in this city, which - in many ways, thanks to it - a huge number of tourists and just onlookers come together.

Prostitution has been prosperous in Amsterdam since the beginning of the 17th century. In those days, Holland was a powerful naval empire, and the capital was an important port city where the Dutch East India Company was based.

Nowadays, the staff of "employees" of local brothels for about 75% consists of foreigners who arrived in the capital of sex tourism to work from Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. Often they are limited to short visits - two to three months - and then, having earned a fairly large amount of money, they return to their homeland. At the same time, women think about the taxes last.
