
President of the Russian Football Union Sergei Fursenko was elected to the UEFA Executive Committee. According to the press service of the RFU , Fursenko was elected in the first round by the absolute majority of votes, like Angel Maria Villar Lona (Spain), Senesh Erzik (Turkey), Peter Giyeron (Switzerland), Grigory Surkis (Ukraine), Borislav Mikhailov (Bulgaria).
Earlier, Russia Vyacheslav Koloskov, ex-president of the RFU, was represented by Russia, who worked for two years in the governing body of the European football organization. Now he is an honorary member of the UEFA.
