On March 30, the Municipal Election Commission of the city of Ob, Novosibirsk Region, decided to recount votes in one of the polling stations following the results of the mayoral election to make sure that the actions of the precinct commission were legal. As Aleksander Zhdanov, a member of the City Election Committee, told Taiga.info, the election commission made a decision in the event of an equality of votes, taking into account the opinion of the chairman.
For the third day in the Ob, the summing up of the results of the elections continues, according to preliminary data, fair-Russian Andrey Neshin is ahead of United Russia Alexander Likhtenfeld by 16 votes. According to Alexander Zhdanov, the recount was caused by a complaint from United Russia representatives. In their opinion, the procedure for counting votes was violated at polling station No. 1435. Video footage was provided to prove this.
The film was studied for two days. However, after examining the applicants' arguments, the commission was unable to "fully determine" whether the complaint had merit. As a result, the City Electoral Committee decided to prove the legitimacy of the actions of the precinct commission by recounting the votes of voters in this precinct. When discussing this issue, opinions were divided: four of the eight members of the commission present voted in favor, four against. In favor of the recalculation, the opinion of the chairman was taken into account.
The votes will be recounted on March 31st. Note that it was at polling station No. 1435 that Neshin received a significant advantage over Lichtenfeld - 570 votes against 405.
Recall that the second round of the mayoral elections took place in the city of Ob on March 27. According to official data, after counting 100% of the ballots, the representative of the Just Russia party Andrey Neshin wins with a score of 48.02% (3873 votes), the United Russia nominee Alexander Likhtenfeld received the support of 47.82% of voters (3857 votes) in the elections. However, the final protocol was not signed: the election committee announced that both candidates had received complaints about violations during the elections, and now time is needed for their consideration.
