Excited parents of future first-graders hurried to get in line on the night of April 1, although the official acceptance of applications started today at three o'clock in the afternoon. One of the most prestigious metropolitan schools No. 46 on September 1 of this year will be able to accept only 76 first-graders, while 120 students are vying for places at their desks.

However, Nikita Batalov noted that there is still a chance that today’s acceptance of applications will be done without bloodshed, despite the huge queue of parents - there are only about 100 of them. Two policemen were even brought to the doors of the educational institution.

There is only one line - no one really looks at the lists; they will be handed over to the school administration, the correspondent clarified. “I will remind you of the essence of the conflict: throughout Moscow, parents of future first-graders sent their children to preparatory courses for school approximately three years before entering first grade. Such classes cost about $100 a month,” he explained.

The new decree of the capital’s government left parents with virtually no guarantees that their children would enter first grade, noted Nikita Batalov. “The night before, parents brought a second list of children - based on territoriality: whoever lives closer to the school will go to first grade,” he continued. - I hope everything will work out without assault. The director promised to gather all parents in the assembly hall, but the fact remains: there are many more children than seats at the desks."
