The Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of Vidnoye (which administratively belongs to the village of Moskovsky) on Tuesday opened a criminal case against the now former head of the criminal investigation department of the Moskovsky police department, 34-year-old Major Alexei Klimov.

As the press service of the TFR explained to Novaya Gazeta, “taking into account the public outcry, we decided to initiate a criminal case. So far, under Part 2 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "Beatings out of hooligan motives." However, information is being collected, and, perhaps, the issue of reclassifying the case to article 286 of the Criminal Code - “Exceeding official powers” ​​will be considered.

“I doubt that the case will be reclassified,” Alexander Zheleznyak, Natalya’s lawyer, commented on the situation to Novaya Gazeta. - We will definitely protest Article 116. It does not correspond to the gravity of the crime committed by Klimov.”

Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation belongs to the category of minor offenses and does not even imply taking the accused into custody. If Klimov is found guilty, the maximum that threatens him is imprisonment for up to 2 years. According to Zheleznyak, there can be no doubt that the case should be initiated under Article 286 of the Criminal Code. After all, Klimov waved his ID of an internal affairs officer and threatened to “put” Natalya and the witnesses of the beating in jail, and this is already a threat associated with his official position.

Article 286 is already a category of serious crimes, providing for a wider range of sanctions, including imprisonment for up to 4 years.

“In the meantime, we are faced with a banal situation - the system protects its person,” Zheleznyak is indignant. “After all, they didn’t even take blood from him that evening for alcohol, although he was drunk and driving a car. It turns out that Alexei Klimov was slightly scolded for beating a woman just like that. We use all possible options, up to deputy requests, and we will seek the conviction of Klimov.”

Recall that on April 3, Major Alexei Klimov, for no apparent reason, attacked Natalia Seibil and beat her. According to Natalia, the major was drunk. Klimov himself, explaining his behavior that evening, referred to problems in the family.

The next morning, the head of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate for the Moscow Region, Nikolai Golovkin, decided to dismiss the major from the internal affairs bodies. True, the dismissal was procedurally framed as a voluntary departure, and theoretically, in the future, Klimov has the opportunity to return to service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. However, the head of the information department of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate for the Moscow Region, Yevgeny Gildeev, in a conversation with Novaya, completely ruled out such a possibility: “Firstly, Klimov is under a criminal case, and after the court decision he will not be able to return. And the wording of leaving at his own request is connected only with the fact that the decision to dismiss was made as soon as possible. And in this case, according to the law, we have the right to dismiss the employee only in this way.”

Now Natalya Seybil with a concussion and multiple hematomas is in one of the Moscow hospitals. And Alexei Klimov, it seems, went on the run. As stated in the ICR, while the investigators can not find the major anywhere to call for interrogation.
