The Supreme Court of Bashkiria sent for compulsory treatment a resident of the city of Oktyabrsky, Almir Badykov, who attacked two police officers with a knife in November 2010. The republic's prosecutor's office announced yesterday that 18-year-old Badykov, whom law enforcement agencies consider a member of the October jamaat, will be sent to a specialized hospital. The forensic examination admitted that he committed the attack on the police “in a painful state in the form of a chronic mental disorder in the form of paranoid schizophrenia and under the influence of delusional ideas” and “did not realize the actual nature and social danger of his actions.”

Let us recall that in November last year, a student at the culinary lyceum, Almir Badykov, burst into the building of the city police department with a knife and shouting “Allahu Akbar!” attacked the lieutenant on duty, inflicting five life-threatening stab wounds. During interrogations, he admitted that he attacked the policeman “for religious reasons,” including out of a feeling of “hatred for civil servants who do not comply with Sharia law” ( Kommersant wrote about this on November 20, 2010 ). They allegedly also found a note with him with the words: “In Oktyabrsky and throughout the world there must be the law of Allah.”

Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bashkiria announced the detention of four accomplices of Badykov - members of the October Jamaat, a local cell of the terrorist organization "Caucasus Emirate", the leader of which is Doku Umarov (see Kommersant, February 2 ). Among them is the 42-year-old leader of the cell, who works as a “turner in the local oil and gas production department,” Ilnur Shakiryanov, who was previously convicted of manufacturing, storing and using an explosive device. The goal of the group, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was to recruit supporters of the fight against the “infidels,” prepare for terrorist attacks, attacks on security forces, officials and Muslim leaders, and ultimately “destabilize the situation in the region.”
