An honorary professor, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, known in the Khabarovsk Territory and abroad, Localist writer Vsevolod Sysoev passed away in the 100th year of his life.

"Vsevolod Petrovich passed away on the evening of April 7," Interfax reports with reference to loved ones.

Viktor Ishaev, the envoy of the President of the Russian Federation to the Far Eastern Federal District, sent his condolences to the relatives and friends, as well as admirers of the talent of Sysoev. "Vsevolod Petrovich Sysoev, a well -known naturalist, a writer -writer, an honorary citizen of Khabarovsk, an honored worker of culture of the Russian Federation, passed away. In domestic literary circles, he was rightfully called the hallmark of the Far East," the text of the condolences received by the agency said.

“We lost a great man who endlessly loved the nature and history of the Far East of Russia and managed to instill in this love to dozens of thousands of readers of different generations. His excitement of a traveler, hunter and archaeologist allowed the Far Eastern personnel with the rarest exhibits stored today in the Khabarovsk Museum of Local Lore,” the Khabarovsk Museum of Local Lore, ”the museum of museum said.

Vsevolod Sysoev was born on November 24, 1911 in Kharkov. A huntingman by profession, a naturalist with a wide horizons of vocation, he became the initiator of the work on acclimatization and resettlement of commercial animals.

Thanks to him, sable, beaver, mink, and ondatra appeared on the vast spaces of the Far East.

Sysoev was the initiator of the creation in the Khabarovsk Territory of the Far Eastern Zoo, which was named after the Localist’s life, while the Localist writer was named.

Farewell to Vsevolod Sysoev will be held on April 11 at the Art Museum in Khabarovsk.
