Gosha is an inquisitive, active and sociable boy. He is my mother's main assistant: he washes dishes, hammers nails, vacuums, helps to make dumplings, makes his own bed. It seemed to be a common thing. But - seven-year-old Gosha does all this with one hand. The boy's left hand has not worked since the age of three. Then, literally in one day, the left arm hung like a whip. Then the leg began to fail, and then the entire left side of the body was taken away. This is how a malignant brain tumor, pyloid astrocytoma, manifested itself. Gaucher's first operation was done in 2006. Doctors completely removed the tumor, and Gosha quickly recovered, he left the hospital on his own, only his left arm did not work. For four years, the disease receded, and Goshin's family tried to forget about everything bad. Unfortunately, in the autumn of last year, a follow-up MRI examination revealed the return of the tumor, that is, a recurrence. In October, Gaucher underwent a second brain operation. Now, in order to remove the remnants of Gaucher's tumor, it is necessary to undergo the Gamma Knife procedure - this is a high-precision irradiation that the boy will undergo at the Research Institute of Neurosurgery. Burdenko. This procedure is paid, it costs 185 thousand rubles. Gosha's parents - ordinary residents of Magnitogorsk - do not have that kind of money.
