NATO: Gaddafi must leave

NATO member countries consider the resignation of the Libyan leader Muamar Gaddafi. This was stated by foreign ministers of the member countries of the North Atlantic Union at a two-day meeting that opened today in Berlin.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the world should strengthen the support of the Libyan rebels. She also called on NATO countries to unity on the issue of solving the Libyan crisis.

Participants in the meeting emphasized the need to strengthen the regime of the "useless zone" over Libya.

The day before, French President Nicolas Sarkozi and British Prime Minister David Cameron at a meeting in Paris spoke out to strengthen the air operations of NATO aircraft in Libya, directed against the Gaddafi regime.
