EVERYTHINGUSB writes that Microsoft will most likely recommend using USB 3.0 flash drives or solid -state drives (SSD), since the creation of a backup through USB 2.0 may be too slow.

The portable copy of Windows 8, in particular, will easily transfer files, settings and other data from the working computer to home (or vice versa). Nevertheless, officially in Microsoft they have not yet confirmed the appearance of this function.

According to rumors that Windows 8 for a PC will have a three-dimensional user interface, facial recognition functions, its own online store, as well as a faster sleep mode, plunging the PC in the "hibernation" in just 3-6 seconds, preserving all open documents and advanced tasks.
