The prosecutor of the Moscow Region was selected after the scandal from the casino.

Deputies of the Moscow Regional Duma agreed at a meeting on Thursday the candidacy of Alexander Anikin to appoint him to the post of prosecutor of the Moscow region. The vacancy for this post was formed after the dismissal of the previous prosecutor of Mosobalast Alexander Mokhov, whose subordinates were lit up in a scandalous case about the underground casinos in the suburbs.

The parliamentarians near Moscow unanimously approved Anikin’s candidacy, which was proposed by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika. Anikin previously held the post of head of the Department of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation on the supervision of the implementation of the legislation on countering corruption, RIA Novosti reports.

“In its professional and personal qualities, Anikin is able to ensure the activities of the prosecutor's office in the Moscow region to strengthen the law and law and order,” Vladimir Malinovsky Vladimir Malinovsky, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, said during the submission of Anikin to deputies. In turn, the chairman of the Moscow Regional Duma Valery Aksakov said that Alexander Anikin had already managed to visit various factions and get acquainted with the deputies personally.

Recall that the former prosecutor of the Moscow Region Alexander Mokhov was dismissed after the involvement of a number of employees of the regional prosecutor’s office in the "gambling scandal" was established, when a network of illegal casinos was disclosed in the Moscow Region.

However, Mokhov did not remain unemployed for long - he was very promptly found a new prosecutor’s position in Moscow: he was appointed deputy metropolitan transport prosecutor.

Alexander Anikin was born on July 13, 1960 in the city of Vladimir. He has a higher legal education and is a state adviser to the justice of the second class, a candidate of legal sciences.

From 1984 to 1987 he was the senior investigator of the prosecutor's office of the city of Vladimir, from 1987 to 1989 he was a prosecutor-forensic prosecutor's office of the Vladimir region, from 1989 to 1992 he was the head of the department for supervision and inquiry in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the prosecutor's office of the Vladimir region.

Then Anikin worked as the Murom city prosecutor of the Vladimir region, the first deputy prosecutor of the Ryazan region, the prosecutor of the Tver region and the prosecutor of the Primorsky Territory.

Since 2007, he has been working as the head of the Office for the implementation of the legislation to counteract the corruption of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. He has the honorary title “Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation”, a sign of distinction “For fidelity to the law” of the first degree, the medal “Veteran of the prosecutor’s office”, the badge “Honorary Worker of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation”, as well as the nominal firearms.
