Twitter officially "translated" into Russian

The Twitter microblogging service received an official Russian version of the interface, RIA Novosti reports. The emergence of the Russian -language version of the service should significantly increase its popularity in Russia and other CIS countries.

At the moment, the service officially supports eight languages ​​- English, Spanish, Italian, Korean, German, Turkish, French and Japanese.

To go to the Russian interface, you need to go to the settings page, select a “Russian” in the “Language” line, and it will be proposed to enter a password to save.

In addition to translating the interface, the developers also presented the blog recommendations adapted for Russians. Now the Russian -speaking version of Twitter will advise users only blogs in Russian.

The service, however, will have to add support for a number of key opportunities so that the Russian -speaking version of Twitter is not inferior to functionally original.

So, so far the service does not have a procedure for verification of accounts, with the help of which it can be guaranteed that the blog of a celebrity or a major organization does not belong to the impostor.

In addition, Russians do not have the opportunity to fully use Twitter using SMS (for which the service was originally created), although all the largest Russian mobile operators have already offered their users simplified tools to publish and receive updates for another world -famous social service Facebook.

In October 2010, the delegation of Russian users Twitter went to San Francisco to the Twitter headquarters to convince the resource administration to translate the service into Russian.

In response, the administration presented in February 2011 a special tools, which allowed users to translate the interface of the popular service into their native language.
