The co-owner of the Russian-British TNK-BP Viktor Vekselberg, who owns 12.5% of the company's shares, does not exclude that Russian shareholders can sell their share in the company, RIA Novosti reports.
"Of course, this can happen. If it is an interesting proposal for us in accordance with our understanding of the assessment of this company, of course, we can accept it. But so far we have not received such an offer," he said in an interview with the Air Force.
Meanwhile, last week he said that Aar, the consortium of Russian shareholders of TNK-BP, does not plan to sell its share in the company. Earlier it was reported that BP offered Russian shareholders TNK-BP to redeem their share for $ 27 billion, but this offer was rejected. According to unofficial data, Russian shareholders estimate the entire company at $ 70 billion.
In an interview, Vekselberg made it clear that the proposed transaction with Rosneft BP violated its contract with Aar. "TNK -BP was created eight years ago, in 2003, as a joint venture between Russian shareholders and BP ... The company grew up very actively, now it is one of the best companies - not only Russian, but also at the international level, because we have investments outside of Russia ... And indeed, I was personally surprised why the BP was not surprised why Vr would not be surprised why the BP would like to make it This, but I am surprised why they did it without any consultations or even just a story about it, I was very upset, I am still upset now, ”he said.
At the same time, Vekselberg emphasized that he "is not interested in money." “I have enough money, for my life, for my family, for everything,” he said.
BP and Rosneft on January 14 agreed on a mutual exchange of shares, in which the Russian company will receive 5% of ordinary BP shares in exchange for 9.5% of its shares. In addition, the companies agreed on the joint exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in three East-Prinno earth-earth plots on the Russian shelf of the Arctic.
The total volume of the shares exchange agreement will be $ 16 billion, and the investment volume of the first stage of the shelf project was estimated at $ 1.4-2 billion. However, the Aar consortium said that these agreements contradict its joint -stock agreement with BP, and challenged them in the Stockholm Arbitration Court, which imposed a temporary ban on transactions.
The Russian-British TNK-BP to resolve the conflict between Russian shareholders of the TNK-BP-the Aar consortium-and the British company previously proposed to buy 5% of its shares from the BP in order to subsequently exchange them for a share in the Russian Rosneft and thus become a member of the transaction between BP and Rosneft. VP herself in response proposed to buy Aar share for $ 27 billion, but the consortium refused this offer.
On April 14, BP announced that she agreed with Rosneft on the extension of the deadline for completing the exchange transaction that expired on April 14, until May 16 of this year. This decision followed the resolution of the Arbitration Court announced on April 8 to discuss such an opportunity.
At the same time, Aar said on April 13 that over the next two weeks he intends to file a lawsuit against the British Virgin Islands, and then to the English court to recover 5-10 billion dollars from BP for violation of the joint-stock agreement.
Aar and TNK-BP believe that BP Russian Investments Limited (directly owns a share in TNK-BP) and BP International Limited (the second side by agreement of the shareholders) violated the joint-stock agreement, not notifying TNK-Br Subsequently, concluding an agreement with Rosneft.
TNK-BP was created in 2003. Its mining assets are located in Western and Eastern Siberia, as well as the Volga-Ural region. TNK-BP belongs to five oil refineries in Russia and Ukraine and a retail network of 1.4 thousand gas stations operating under BP and TNK brands. TNK-BP also owns about 50% of the Russian oil and gas company Slavneft. TNK-BP accounts for about 16% of oil production in Russia (including a share in Slavneft).
