Employees of the Belarusian police conducted on Wednesday searches and detention in the office of the Vesna human rights organization in Minsk under the pretext of finding an explosive device. Several detained citizens of Russia, among which was the correspondent of Interfax Yuri Shamshura, released it after checking the documents. The rest of the detainees, including citizens of the Russian Federation, were sent to Pervomaisky police department.

Most journalists who also came to cover this event did not get into the office building and watched what was happening outside. The office of a human rights organization was blocked by police officers in connection with the receipt of information about the prone of some suspicious boxes.

This happened 15 minutes before the moment the video conference of the speaker of the Nile Jarman International Observation Committee on the Human Rights in Belarus after the election was supposed to take place in the office. Police officers claimed to be looking for a bomb.

In addition, law enforcement agencies seized passports from several Russian citizens who are there, in order to "clarify the legality of being in Belarus." According to Vesna, in her office there were Russian human rights activists Yuri Djibladze and Sergey Dikman, Russian citizens Victoria Gromova and Lyubov Zakharova and the Russian television journalist.

The Vesna’s office was forbidden to leave the premises. At the same time, journalists who arrived later, including Russian federal television channels, were not missed into the office. Russian human rights activist Gromova proposed to report what was happening to the Russian consulate.

The prosecutor's office demands to plant another 5 Belarusian opposition for several years

Against this background, the prosecutor's office asked the Oktyabrsky court of Minsk to condemn the next batch of Belarusian oppositionists, held in the case of mass protests of the opposition in December last year after the presidential election. The actions of protesters qualified as mass riots.

According to Interfax, the state prosecutor asked the judge to condemn Pavel Vinogradov and Ales Kirkevich to 4 years in prison in a colony of reinforced regime, Dmitry Drozd - for 3.5 years, Andrei Protaseni and Vladimir Khomichenko - for 3 years. In addition, the prosecutor asked Khomichenko forced treatment for alcoholism at the place of serving the sentence.

Speaking about the actions of the accused, the state prosecutor noted that they struck with arms, legs, loudspeaker (Drozd), an ice ax (Khomichenko) on the doors and fences of the Government House. In addition, Drozd hit the hands of an employee of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Minsk Shilko, Protasen - pulled out a shield from an riot police officer, struck him with a fishing rod, the prosecutor said. Khomichenko, while intoxicated, tore off part of the door leaf, he added.

In total, in the case of the riots in Minsk on December 19, 2010, 38 people were in the status of the accused, most of them are detained in anticipation of the vessels, the rest - under house arrest and a subscription about the wizard.

Among the accused there were 5 ex -candidates for presidents - Andrei Sannikov, Nikolai Statkevich (are in the KGB pre -trial detention center), Vladimir Neklyaev (under house arrest), Ales Mikhalevich and Vitaliy Rymashevsky (were released on a recognizance not to leave). Later, Mikhalevich fled to the Czech Republic and asked for political asylum there. Among the suspects are two ex -candidates for presidency Grigory Kostusev and Dmitry of the USS.

Several defendants in the criminal case have already been sentenced to imprisonment, fines and restriction of freedom without referring to a special institution.
