On the eve of Victory Day, this always exacerbates, like a bad illness: the desire to drag at least some of his idol and fold his hands in front of him in prayer reverence. This day is one of the few when the fans of the Generalissimo seems that from his pedestal you can wash the bloody spots and give out victory in the war for his personal achievement.
This is one of the few myths about the past that actually remained untouched in Soviet times: Stalin, which disappeared from the screens with the beginning of the debunking of the “cult of personality”, returned to them safely - let it not be so majestic, but all the same wise. The hosts of Soviet novelists and historians worked on the glorification of this image. And they safely silent the truth about the war. The truth about the shameful union of Stalin and Hitler. The truth about Lend -Lease and the joint struggle of the Allies against Nazism - the struggle, to which the Soviet Union was forced to join only after the beginning of Nazi aggression. The truth about innumerable victims and disregard for human lives. The truth about the mockery of the population of a huge part of the country, abandoned to their fate in the first months of the war and then transferred to the category of unreliable for decades. The truth about the army-liberator, who not only saved Europe from Hitlerism, but also brought Stalinism with its camps, indicative processes and devastation to liberated countries.
But all this truth is not in our memory. Therefore, the Communists still drag and drag their idol for pedestals on these May days, right along Galich - "the bronze leaves, but lurking, lurking, gypsum." Therefore, any high -ranking thief is ready at any moment to hang out a portrait of Stalin or at least an immortal quote from the leader in the belief that this will replace new roads, new metro stations, just a normal life. There is nothing new in this - in the Stalin Soviet Union, his portraits also covered poverty and hunger, lies and repression, torture and death. So it was accepted - this was the essence of the system built by the Generalissimo on our bones. And you don’t have to be surprised here. It is amazing that all this continues to this day. And not only continues, but also intensifies.
In the late 80s - early 90s, when people finally got the opportunity to find out and say about Stalinism everything that the system stubbornly did not want to recognize even during the years of the “personality cult” and his consequences, no one - unless of individual marginals like some Nina Andreeva, had no doubt that we were talking about a paranoid criminal, whose political talent was in the ability to push and shoot. Yes, a slave society is characterized by sympathy for such talents - it is no coincidence that today many former Soviet people are so enthusiastic about the almond -shaped eyes of the crazy Muamar. But then we seem to be freed. Then, at the “In memory of the In memory of the In memory of the“ In memory ”, Dmitry Shepilov, the same“ joined Shepilov ”, once a member of the Presidium of the CPSU Central Committee and the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Pravda, spoke of Stalin's atrocities.
But soon the liberation ended. Stalin is always found and will meet on the road to slavery. Always on this procession, someone will grab his bust and hoist this whitish abomination on some Leningrad or Zaporizhzhya street, and someone will be the right to protect this “campaign of victory”. When, during one of the recent Ukrainian television shows, the deputy-registry man screamed heartily at me, demanding "not to touch Stalin and not insult the elderly," I realized: it all starts again. The old people will be wrapped, young people are wrapped. This always happens when they do not touch Stalin.
