Human rights activists promise to arrange a “scandal for the whole world” in connection with the detention of the police of the defenders of the Khimkinsky forest, including many famous civil activists.

The head of the Moscow Helsinki group Lyudmila Alekseeva told Interfax on Sunday that lawyers were not allowed by the detainees, and they promise to be detained before the trial all the holidays.

"I am going to inform the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Vladimir Lukin and get through to the duty prosecutor," she said.

“We are going to arrange a grandiose scandal for the whole world, if they leave them in custody. They had little scandal with (oppositionists) Nemtsov and Yashin, who were left behind bars for the New Year after being detained on the Triumphal Square. Now they will receive the same on Victory Day,” Alekseeva said.

The police of the city of Khimki, who were Moscow, stopped the "folk gathering" of the activists of the movement in defense of the Khimkinsky forest, detained up to 20 people, says the coordinator of the "Left Front" Sergey Udaltsov.

“This morning, a folk gathering was held near the Khimki station against the cutting of the Khimkinsky forest for the construction of the Moscow -Petersburg highway. About 200 people took part in it,” Udaltsov said on Sunday.

According to him, the event did not bore the nature of the mass action, "the gathering took place without any slogans and without sound amplifying equipment."

"After the promotion, the Khimki police and riot police suddenly began to detain activists in order to massively. About 20 people were stuffed into buses, including me and Sergei Mitrokhin (the leader of the Yabloko party)," Udaltsov said.

He noted that, according to the police, the action was an unauthorized rally.

Sergei Mitrokhin, in turn, said that in Khimki, a member of citizens was announced to verify documents with the chopper of the Khimkinsky forest.

“When I went to the gathering place, I saw that riot police delayed people in a rude uniform,” Mitrokhin said. According to him, when he asked the police to explain the cause of the detentions, he was also detained. “The police broke off my hands, insulted me, cursed obscenities,” the leader of “Yabloko” emphasized.

He called the actions of the police "provocation on the eve of May 9." According to him, the police carried out his bus, where, in addition to him, there were about 20 more people - activists of the "In Defense of the Khimki Forest", including Evgeny Chirikov, supporters of the Yabloko party. Later, information appeared that a lawyer was not allowed to Mitrokhin.

Several participants in the "people's gathering" are facing administrative arrest up to 15 days for disobeying the police, Udaltsov said.

"In relation to me, the activist of the movement" in defense of the Khimkinsky forest "Yaroslav Nikitenko, protocols were drawn up under Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (disobedience to police officers)," Udaltsov said.

He noted that he did not sign the protocol due to the lack of his defender. “In the coming hours, we will be delivered to the court to resolve the issue of the measure of punishment,” said the coordinator of the “Left Front”.

Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code provides for punishment in the form of administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
